You need to root your device to enable Daydream VR on Android Nougat Smartphone.

Step 1. Make sure that your phone running Nougat, is rooted, and that you’ve installed a root explorer application, Google VR Services, and Daydream
Step 2. Using the root explorer app, navigate to /system/etc/permissions/handheld_core_hardware.xml
Step 3. Select Edit to modify the “handheld_core_hardware.xml” file
Step 4. Find the Root Permissions tag and add the following code: <feature name=”android.software.vr.mode” /> <feature name=”android.hardware.vr.high_performance” />
Make sure you put the codes correctly else the functioning of the Daydream VR will not be correct
Step 5. After saving this, reboot your phone
Launch the Daydream application and place your phone in a Daydream VR headset to make sure it is functioning properly
If you’re having any real trouble, you can try disabling the VR intro screens. This setting is found in the Developer Settings for the Daydream app, which can be unlocked with a few taps on the build version in the app.
