How to Update Xiaomi Mi 3 and Mi 4 to Android 8.0 Oreo( AOSP Custom ROM)

XDA Senior Member vasishath, released the initial build of Android Oreo AOSP 8.0 ROM for Xiaomi Mi 3 and Mi 4 and the ROM is stable enough to use as daily driver.

In this guide we show you how to install Android 8.0 Oreo on Xiaomi Mi 3 and Mi 4 with AOSP Custom ROM.

Note : You’ll need to Root and Install TWRP Custom Recovery in-order to Install the AOSP Android 8.0 Oreo Rom on Xiaomi Mi 3 or Mi 4 o.

How to Update Xiaomi Mi 3 and Mi 4 to Android 8.0 Oreo (AOSP Custom ROM)

Step 1. Copy the downloaded ROM zip file and Gapps zip file to your device external storage.

Step 2. Now, turn off your phone and boot into TWRP recovery (press Volume Up and Power button at the same time).

Steo 3. Once you are in the recovery, go to ‘Wipe’ > Advanced Wipe > and then wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik Cache.

Step 4. Now, go to ‘Install’, and then navigate to ROM zip file, which you have copied to external storage. After selecting, swipe to flash the ROM.

Step 5. Install Gapps zip file in the same way and Flash the SuperSu/Magisk zip.

Step 6. Now, reboot your phone, set up your new ROM and enjoy.
